Just got back from the 1st trip of 2007. The place looked just like we had left it. At first we thought someone had mowed the grass on the road up to the cabin. It was just the start of new grass and it looked uniform however. It always amazes me how quiet the place is. It takes me several hours to get used to it.

We saw Chipmunk, dead mice, Hornets, A pregnant Deer, Ravens, Grouse...and a small hawk.

Each night we started a fire to keep warm. Sunday night got down to 36 degrees.

We tried to watch "Black Christmas" but it was a poor excuse for a slasher movie.

Just returned from our first trip of 2007. Arrived Sat 4/28 around 2PM to sunny skies and temp around 64 degrees. All was just as we left it last October. Wasps had invaded the cabin so we bug bombed the cabin and vacuumed up all the carcasses. Bill found 2 dead mice in the trailer and buried them. On Sunday we ate breakfast at Whistlers and headed to Wal Mart to get an ironing board for my Mom. We also visited the new Home Depot in Omak. Nice big store. Headed back to cabin where we cleaned and re-taped our water collection system. Had nice fires both nights. Cooled down to mid 30's on Sunday night after a high in the mid 50's. I put new batteries in the rain station and reset it. Good trip it was! Next we look forward to Solstice trip where we Will be joined by Lee.
