Headed over to the ranch Monday morning July 30th. arrived around 3PM to sunny skies and temps near 79 degrees. So far this summer since the May trip there has been 3.75 inches of rain! All was fine as it usually is. Rested in the afternoon while Bill read a book. The Mossies were not bad at all this time, but we were prepared with wipes just in case. The bats came out at dusk and were flying around the cabin like race horses, grabbing bugs as they flew just inches above our heads! Went to bed around 10:30 and slept fairly well.
Arose around 7AM on Tuesday morning July 31st to sunny skies and temps in the upper 50's. Headed into Omak to eat at Our Place, Great as usual. Headed back to Tonasket to get a few snacks and glue for the new screen doors. returned to ranch and Bill weed wacked all around the cabin and trailer and the path to the facilities while I did some cabin cleaning and battery testing. Battery is still strong and doing well. peaks around 14.4 volts daily. Nice day with temps around 80 degrees and bice breeze. We decide to leave around 2:30pm and head home. I (Ron) was felling a bit fatigued. Nice easy drive home with a latte stop in Wenatchee. Arrived home around 7:30PM. Bills Hybrid got around 28mpg both ways. Nice vehicle!

Awoke around 7AM on Thursday June 21st to a strange bird call. It finally showed itself to be a beautiful Peacock. Not a native species at all. Sunny skies and warming temps. Headed into Tonasket for some coffee. Cute Gal was not there. Headed into Omak for Breakfast at Our Place. Great food! Headed to Conconully to fish, could not really find a place to fish. Headed back to Fish Lake and caught 7 nice pan sized trout. Headed back to camp for a rest. We then had a bacon and trout dinner, very good! Many Mossies pestered us during the evening. Temps topped out at 86 degrees.

Arose at 7AM on Wednesday June 20th to sunny skies and mild temps near 60 degrees. Had cereal for breakfast and then headed into Tonasket to have coffees at the Junction. Nice coffee babe gave us all a "Show". Headed to Fish lake and caught one 9" trout. Headed back to camp for a nice T-Bone Steak dinner ala Lee. Cy Eldred came by on a cool little diesel ATV with his nice dog for a visit. Slept fairly well. Stayed light very late.

Arrived at property on Tuesday June 19th around 3PM for our annual Solstice trip. Lee was not to be seen however his truck was there. We were surprised to see a "BrokeBack Mountain" sign on on gate, figured Lee was the culprit. Lee finally showed up around 6PM. Turned out he was dancing naked up at Rogers former place. He reported giant Turkeys with many babies. Weather was sunny with temps around 77 degrees. We had enchiladas ala Lee. Bill took a nap.

Just got back from the 1st trip of 2007. The place looked just like we had left it. At first we thought someone had mowed the grass on the road up to the cabin. It was just the start of new grass and it looked uniform however. It always amazes me how quiet the place is. It takes me several hours to get used to it.
We saw Chipmunk, dead mice, Hornets, A pregnant Deer, Ravens, Grouse...and a small hawk.
Each night we started a fire to keep warm. Sunday night got down to 36 degrees.
We tried to watch "Black Christmas" but it was a poor excuse for a slasher movie.
